Michaela Pickett (born Michaela Marie Pickett) is an American celebrity child famously known for being the daughter of the late American actor Jay Pickett known for Rags to Riches, and roles on series as China Beach, Mr. Belvedere, Dragnet, Jake, and The Fatman, Days of Our Lives, Perry Mason, and Matlock. She is the second daughter of the couple.
Her father Jay Pickett, originated the role of Frank Scanlon in 1997, a dedicated paramedic and substitute teacher and the complicated older brother of Joe Scanlon, on the ABC Daytime drama Port Charles. In 2006, he substituted for actor Ted King in the role of Lorenzo Alcazar on the soap opera, General Hospital, the parent series of Port Charles. In 2007, he rejoined the cast of General Hospital in the recurring role of Detective David Harper.
According to Fransisco Gella Dance Works, she started her dance training at the age of 6 at Los Angeles Ballet Academy (then Theatrics Dance Academy) in Van Nuys, California. She studied ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) method, as well as a variety of jazz and contemporary dance styles. After graduating from LABA, as well as Louisville High School, Michaela attended Chapman University in Orange, California, where she received a Bachelor of the Arts in Dance Performance Major and Nutrition Minor. She not only continued her ballet, jazz, and contemporary training while at Chapman, but also began to heavily train in various classical and contemporary modern dance techniques.
Michaela has studied under numerous world-renowned teachers and choreographers and has attended an array of summer intensives, including the American Academy of Ballet, School of American Ballet, Royal Ballet School, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. She is currently a member of JESSICA KONDRATH | THE MOVEMENT, a contemporary ballet/modern dance company based in Long Beach, California, and participates in periodic commercial dance work in the Los Angeles area. In addition to pursuing a professional dance career and serving as Creative Assistant for Francisco Gella Dance Works, Michaela teaches at Los Angeles Ballet Academy.
