Beth Mcleod is an American Meteorologist at Fox 8 News in Cleveland Ohio. She is majorly known for being a television presenter for the weather section for Cleveland 19 News. She has worked in Cleveland 19 News for close to 6 years. She is the widow of Fred Mcleod who was an American sportscaster who served as the executive producer of multimedia, and television play-by-play announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). While growing up, Beth lived with her family in Bay Village, Ohio but later her family relocated to Detroit.
She undertook broadcast journalism at Michigan University. When she started her professional career she began by covering all types of sporting events before she began weather forecasting. Her career in sports journalism changed to more integral journalism based on traffic socio-political and economic news rather than just broadcasting sports. Beth has worked as a host and anchor for Div-television in Detroit for more than 15 years before landing her job in Cleveland 19 News in 2009.
She is a graduate of Michigan State Univerity with a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism. She also holds a master’s degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Beth was the wife of sportscaster Fred Mcleod. Fred died on September 9, 2019, suddenly after suffering a heart attack. The two met each other while working at CBS where Fred worked as the CBS affiliate in Detroit and Beth worked for CBS Sports out of New York. They were married for over 25 years.
They met in 1988 while she was in Los Angeles as a broadcast assistant for CBS Sports covering the NBA Finals and Fred was the Pistons play-by-play announcer. “We just became friends for a while,” says Beth. “I think, looking back if you marry your best friend, things are always going to be good.” Fred proposed at Christmastime in 1990, and the couple married the following September in Detroit at Cranbrook House & Gardens, with Fred’s kids, Sean, Jenna, and Molly, in the wedding party.
