Jenna Remy s the daughter of Red Sox Hall of Fame’s second baseman Jerry Remy and Phoebe. Jerry was an American Major League Baseball second baseman and broadcaster. Remy played three seasons with the California Angels and seven with the Boston Red Sox. After retiring, he became a color commentator for Red Sox television broadcasts on NESN from 1988 until his death in 2021. Her father died from cancer on October 30, 2021, at the age of 68.
Her father Jerry played three seasons with the California Angels from 1975 to 1977 and seven with the Boston Red Sox (1978–84). Her father was brought up in Somerset, Massachusetts, and became an all-star second baseman originally drafted by the California Angels in 1971, Remy made his major league debut in 1975. He was traded to his hometown Boston Red Sox in 1977. His best season was in 1978 when he was selected for his only All-Star team. Over the next several seasons, he was hampered by a series of injuries which limited his playing time to less than half of a season each of the next three years, though he continued to bat very well when he was healthy. Remy played two more full seasons in 1982 and 1983, though his injury problems returned in 1984, and he officially retired from the sport in 1985.
He later became a regular media personality, serving as a color commentator for NESN’s Red Sox broadcasts from 1988 until his death only taking occasional time off for health issues. He also owned a number of restaurants and wrote a number of books on baseball.
Despite leaving a private life currently, in 2013, Jenna was then arrested for resisting arrest, assault, and battery with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor breaking and entering after allegedly breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s house. She was charged but later received probation and avoided jail time and resolved to lead a quiet life.
