Jennifer Wilson was an English actress who was known for appearing in Coronation Street, Casualty, and Doctors. She started her on-screen acting career in the 1950s, where she played Kate Nickleby in a BBC dramatization of Nicholas Nickleby in 1957. She played Detective Sergeant Helen Webb in ITV’s series Special Branch from 1969 and is best known for her role as Jennifer Kingsley in the 70s BBC series The Brothers. Jennifer starred in all seven series of Brothers which ran between 1972 and 1976. She appeared in the hospital A&E drama Casualty and had a recurring role in the BBC soap Doctors as Nancy Milne. Her last acting roles were as Mrs. Bradbury in Coronation Street in 2014 and as Nancy Milne in three episodes of the BBC lunchtime soap Doctors between 2014 and 2015.
The onset of her film career in The Story of Gilbert and Sullivan (1953), whilst still at RADA, from which she graduated in 1952. One of her earliest television roles was Kate Nickleby in the 1957 BBC Television adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby. She played Detective Sergeant Helen Webb in the first series of ITV’s Special Branch (1969) and, in probably her best-known role, Jennifer Hammond in the 1970s series The Brothers. In 1965, she appeared in Bill Naughton’s Spring and Port Wine at the Mermaid Theatre, London in the part of Florence.
Jennifer also enjoyed success on stage including her role as Mrs. Boyle in the long-running Agatha Christie drama The Mousetrap. And she also joined a national touring production of Pride and Prejudice playing the matriarch role of Mrs. Bennet.

The tweet read, “Farewell to my lovely friend Jennifer Wilson who has passed away in Cannes aged 89. Jenny was a Shakesperean starlet before finding success in TV, most notably as Jennifer Kingsley in The Brothers. I shall remember the balmy hot nights in Cannes we shared together and the laughs.” Her cause of death is currently unknown.
