Gabriel Pascuzzi is an American Chef and Owner of Mama Bird, Stacked Sandwich Shop, and Feel Good Restaurants. He was a contestant in Season 18 of Top Chef that aires on Bravo-TV. The show features a competition of 15 contestants from different regions of the United States. He was contesting alongside Sara Hauman, who also hails from Portland, Oregon. He grew up in an Italian American household whereby his interest in cooking began at an early age. As he grew older, he would visit Big Fork, Montana, his uncle’s restaurant helping out to wash dishes and peeling shrimp. While in high school, he worked under his uncle to gain more skills.
He attended Johnson & Wales University graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts. He proceeded to New York City to work under Daniel Boulud, and head judge Tom Colicchio at Colicchio & Sons. He later joined Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark working there. He then went back to the United States and worked for a couple of restaurants before he set up his own restaurant- Stacked Sandwich Shop in 2017. The restaurant has been named Thrillist’s Top 31 Sandwich Shops in America. In 2017, he won the Eater Portland’s Chef of the Year and subsequently, in 2019 opened another joint Mama Bird six months before the pandemic hit.
