Tasha Ghouri born Natasha Amber Ghouri is a dancer, professional model, and a music video vixen from Thirsk in North Yorkshire. She is a contestant in season eight of Love Island in the United Kingdom. The show is set to begin on Monday, June 6, 2022. Eleven contestants will be featured in the show which will be aired on ITV2. Ghouri is the first deaf contestant to appear on Love Island. She is already a familiar face to fans of pop star MNEK having starred in his and Sleepwlkers’ More Than Words music video. She showed off her impressive moves in the 2020 video as the lead dancer.
Poignantly, the song was a celebration of the deaf community and every dancer featured is deaf and hard of hearing. The routines were born from how the dancers felt the music – much like Rose Ayling-Ellis did on her way to victory on Strictly Come Dancing. Before the series, Ghouri said: “That was my first major music video. Surprisingly enough it was about him celebrating the deaf community. It was such a great, exciting opportunity.” In 2021, she made headlines after pictures of her modeling earrings for fashion giant Asos – in which her cochlear implant could be seen – went viral.
She was born completely deaf and got her cochlear implant at the age of five. Discussing her hearing, she said that her friends and family call her “inspirational”, adding: “I inspire quite a lot of people because I’m really open about it.”

Joining the show, she is proud to be an ambassador for the deaf community and raise awareness around her condition, she states that it does not define her.
She said: “I haven’t let anything stop me. I’m going in as me, not just the girl with the cochlear implant. It’s my superpower, it’s something cool that I have about me. My best personality trait is I’m loyal to my friends and my guy. I’m super honest, I don’t shy away from anything. I’m very trustworthy, people do come to me if they’re upset or if they need a shoulder to cry on. I like to resolve things on the spot. I don’t like to leave things to get worse. I’m quite confrontational as well, but I try to do it in a polite manner.”
“I always go with my heart. If I do get my heart broken I do believe in second chances. It’s all about compromise and talking it out. I’m not cutthroat like ‘I’m cutting you out now’. I’m a very honest person, and I’m a girl’s girl as well. I’m not the kind of girl to go behind their backs and be sly. Honesty is the best policy.” She has said that she’s a “party animal” who’ll bring a lot of fun to the villa.“I may have to step on toes but I’ll do it in the nicest way possible,” she joked.

I’m definitely ready for a relationship,” she said. “I’m 23 now so I’m ready to get to know someone, go on holidays and travel with them.
“I think guys get quite intimidated by me. I’ve been on so many dates before but it just hasn’t worked out for me. I haven’t found that click with somebody yet. I think I’m waiting for that click moment and that spark, it’s all about the spark on the first date.”
