Gemma Owen born Gemma Rose Owen is the daughter of former England football star Michael Owen. She is a business owner, having launched her brand OG Beachwear earlier in 2022. She is best known for being an International Dressage Rider for Great Britain and is also an equestrian. She is an international dressage rider for Great Britain and competed in the 2021 European Championships. She is a contestant in ITV2’s Love Island season eight which debuts on Monday, June 6, 2022. She is the youngest contestant to join the island this year aged just 19 competing alongside the other ten contestants.

Asked about how competitive she was, Gemma said that when it comes to relationships, “I will always go for what I want. But at the same time, I’m not going to mess up something for someone who is in a proper relationship or get in the way of a couple if they have a genuine connection. I wouldn’t do anything to another girl that I wouldn’t be happy with them doing to me.”
She describes herself as “fun, flirty and fiery,” and says she’s “a good person to talk to,” and “very honest.” She thinks she would be a catch, saying: “I do think I’m a good girlfriend. I would say that once I’m in something, I’m loyal and all for that person. I don’t think my head would get turned easily.”
Her friends would describe her as “very honest and a bit stubborn, straight up and a bit fiery.” Gemma says: “I can be quite protective. When you get to know me, I’m quite fun but it just takes a while for that guard to come down. “They would say that I can take the mick out of myself quite easily!”
She would say she’s competitive and says: “Sport has always been a big thing for me and my family. My dad was a professional football player. I’ve competed for Great Britain in dressage since I was 11-years-old. I’ve traveled all across Europe competing in big arena in big competitions. I would say I’m very competitive.” This competitiveness translates into her dating life too, as she says: “I will always go for what I want. However, she says: “I wouldn’t do anything to another girl that I wouldn’t be happy with them doing to me.”Although she considers herself “a relationship type of person,” she might not let things get too serious on Love island, as she says: “I don’t think I fall in love quickly, I think I’m quite slow. I think it takes a while for me to let my guard down.”

He was pretty chilled, he trusts me not to do anything to embarrass him. He took it quite well,” she added.
