Ruth Dodsworth is a British broadcaster, journalist, and weather presenter. She started her career in radio, working as a researcher for BBC Radio Wales in the mid-1990s. She joined ITV Cymru Wales (previously HTV Wales) in June 1996, training as a news reporter and presenter. She switched roles to become a weather presenter in 2000. She has also presented a wide range of programs for ITV Cymru Wales, including The Ferret, Grassroots, coverage of the Royal Welsh Show and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, Wales This Week, A Little Piece of Paradise, The Night Before the Morning After, and the BAFTA-nominated Coast and Country.
In September 2015, she became part of Nation Radio as co-presenter of the station’s breakfast show, The Big Welsh Wake Up, alongside Niall Foster and in November 2016 then began, co-presenting a weekday breakfast show for five local radio stations in the south and west Wales – Radio Pembrokeshire, Radio Carmarthenshire, Radio Ceredigion, Swansea Bay Radio and 106.3 Bridge FM. After graduating with a degree in communications, she studied postgraduate journalism at Cardiff University through an ITV-sponsored course. She also works for many charities in Wales. She is an ambassador for Cancer Research Wales and Children’s hospice Tŷ Hafan; she also took part in a trek across the Sahara desert with ex-husband Jonathan Wignall in early 2016 and along the Laugavegur Trail in Iceland in September 2019.

Her ex-husband has been jailed after a nine-year campaign of harassment and stalking during their marriage according to BBC News. Jonathan Wignall, set alerts for her TV appearances, accessed her phone with her fingerprint as she slept, and tracked her car. In March 2021, Wignall pleaded guilty to one count of coercive and controlling behavior and stalking. On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, he was jailed for three years at Cardiff Crown Court. He was also given a restraining order against contacting the journalist.
