Jowita Przystał is a Polish professional ballroom dancer and choreographer. She is best recognized for her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing and The Greatest Dancer where she won the competition in 2020. Her victory saw her perform in the Ballroom that same year (2020), before joining Strictly’s lineup in 2021. She started dancing at the age of 12 and has had a successful career henceforth. She is recognized as the 2014 Polish Open Latin Champion.
She halted her competitive career in 2015 to proceed to the touring dance company – Burn The Floor performing around the world for four years finally ending up in the United Kingdom. During her time on The Greatest Dancer, she was mentored by and performed with Strictly’s Oti Mabuse, getting the best introduction to the Strictly life. In 2022, she partnered with her first celebrity, wildlife cameraman and CBeebies star Hamza Yassin.
Przystał and her partner Michael Danilczuk have represented Poland in National and International competitions. The pair became Polish Open Latin Champions in 2014. They have also performed with Burn the Floor. Przystał and Danilczuk have also performed in Broadway musical productions such as Legally Blonde, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and Rock of Ages. They relocated to London in 2019 to pursue a career in the United Kingdom. In 2020, Danilczuk appeared on The Greatest Dancer. They were crowned winners of the second series. The prize was £50,000 and an opportunity to perform on the next series of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing. In 2021, she joined the nineteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing as a professional. On November 25, 2021, it was announced she would dance with Adrian Chiles for the 2021 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
