Mike Gabler is an American heart valve specialist originally from Houston, Texas. He is a castaway from Survivor 43 with the Baka Tribe. Gabler is the oldest contestant to compete on Survivor 43. The season premiered on September 21, 2022, on CBS and Global. He was announced as one of 18 contestants alongside Noelle Lambert, Geo Bustamante, and Cassidy Clark among others. Filming took place in Fiji for an eleventh consecutive season.
Besides taking part in the competition, he is a territory manager (Transcatheter Heart Valves) at Edwards Lifesciences. He has also worked as a territory manager (Endovascular) and Territory Manager (Oncology and Peripheral). He has also worked as a key account executive, Southern Territory Manager, and Area Sales Manager. He undertook his Master’s studies at Bond University, his bachelor’s degree at Stephen F. Austin State University, and also attended Kingwood High School.

It started, “What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? My family. It has not been easy. Life is busy; life is hard. But through hard work, dedication and love, we have stayed together, overcome obstacles, and are strong!
What is something we would never know from looking at you? As social as I am, I enjoy time alone. I am also more sensitive than most think.
Who is your hero and why? My father. He’s always there for us. He was also a Green Beret and a patriot.
Which past Survivor will you play the game most like? If I can only pick one, then I’d say Sandra. She was always in the right place at the right time. She had phenomenal strategies and gameplay.
Why do you believe you can be the Sole Survivor? Yes!!”

He has a massive tattoo around his chest area, shoulders, and upper arms that extend to his lower arms. He also keeps a beard. In an interview before the onset of the show, he stated that he expects that his tattoos, beard, and stature will give off a first impression that he’s “a pretty intimidating guy.” However, he promises he has “a heart of gold.”
