Ryan Medrano is an American fitness trainer and an electrical warehouse associate from El Paso, Texas. He is a castaway from Survivor 43. The season premiered on September 21, 2022, on CBS and Global. He was announced as one of 18 contestants alongside Gabler, Noelle Lambert, Geo Bustamante, Cassidy Clark, and Sami Layadi among several others. Filming took place in Fiji for an eleventh consecutive season.

The past Survivor Medrano wishes to play his game like Rupert. He explains that Rupert provided food for his tribe helping them keep the strength necessary for the challenges in the competition. He concluded by saying he believes he will be the sole Survivor because he is a triple threat, That means he has the ability to socialize easily, he is naturally strong, and is quick in puzzles. He also added that he is fast in forming bonds and has an ability to influence others, terming his tongue as a silver tongue. He believes that he has a great resolve to do what needs to be done to win the ultimate prize, which is the million dollars.
