Ben Cooper Bargain Hunt

Speaking of how he got a job as an expert on Bargain Hunt, Cooper narrated of how he sold to the show in its “early days”.

He said: “I first sold to Bargain Hunt in its early days, (also my early days as a dealer) when I had a stand at the Malvern Antiques Fair. I had no idea that one day I would be an expert on the show. About five years ago Bargain Hunt came to Leominster, where I first formally met members of the crew. To my surprise, I was asked for a screen test and was invited to join the team of experts in September 2014.”

The antique expert has also stated that he has made many losses in the show than in the profits. He said, “Within Bargain Hunt, I have made many losses and fewer profits!”

Ben explained: “Most surprising profit was a deck chair but financially it was The Charles Horner Brooch.”

He said that the vintage brooch, which he found in Edinburgh, sold for a huge profit of £100 which he claimed to be his “best find” on the show to date.
