Charles Ouda was a Kenyan actor, film director, and screenwriter known for the films; Know Zone, Makutano Junction, Changing Times, Salem, The First Grader, and Count It Out.
He was also a scriptwriter, show host, event manager, and voice-over artist and he composed for several productions.
His career in the acting industry began while he was acting at the Kenya National Theatre. The actor has been working professionally since 2002. He went on to appear in major roles in films and television series.
His theatre credits include ‘Boy Gets Girl’ (playing Tony), ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ (playing Joseph), ‘Balm in Gilead (playing Fick), Andrew Lippa’s ‘Wild Party’ (playing Mr. Black), ‘The Iron Heel’ (playing Ernest Everhard) and ‘Out of Africa: Journey Through Magical Kenya’.
The departed actor had his career crossing across borders. He embarked on a European Tour with the musical show ” Out of Africa: Journey Through Magical Kenya.” He also co-wrote songs for some artists.
Charles took some time away from his busy career to complete his 2 Year Conservatory Program at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Some of the awards he has received in his career include; the New York City Indie Film Awards and The Best Director Award at the 2016 Asan American Film Lab 72 Hour Shoot Out.

Actor Ouda passed on on February 3, 2024. e was 38 years old. In a statement released by his family, they state that he passed away on the night of February 3, 2024. They added that more details will be released.
The family went on to appeal to the public to respect their privacy as well as that of his fiancee Ciru Muriuki as they grieve the departed soul.
The statement reads, “Dear friends and family, it is with great sadness that we share the passing of Charles ‘Charlie’ J.Ouda on the night of February 3, 2024.”
“We appeal to all to give his fiancée Ciru, and the Oudas space to grieve this unfathomable loss. More details will be given in due course.”
