Emmanuel “Mjokes” Matsane ( born Emmanuel Mojalefa Matsane ) was a South African musician and songwriter who was commonly known as “Mjokes”. The name Mjokes came about because of his funny nature and how he loved joking around with each and every person. He was part of the Trompies music group that began making music in 1990 and released their first album Sigiya Ngengoma in 1995. The group specializes in Kwaito music. Trompies have since sold over half a million records and have become very successful in producing and managing other artists as well through their record label Kalawa Jazmee. He had been part of the group since the completion of their music studies in college.

He died in a car accident in the early hours of this morning, 23 May 2021 after a performance….”
