Abby Walton is an American television anchor and reporter who joined WCTV in June of 2014 as the 5:30 and 11 p.m anchor/reporter. She is also an anchor of the FOX 49 News at 10. Before she went to work at WCTV, she spent six years at WTHI, the CBS/FOX affiliate in Terre Haute, Indiana. While she was working there, she was an anchor to the number one morning and noon show in the area. She also was the producer of the noon show and reported.
She was born and raised in the Hoosier state. She went to study at Ball State University and thereby she received her degree in Telecommunications News. She is still very active within the department as a member of the BSU TCOM alumni board. She has always cherished and embraced being a part of the community and is very passionate about it. During her time in Terre Haute, she took part ( was involved )in many organizations, but the one near and dear to her heart is Autism Speaks. Through her reporting on autism spectrum disorder, she was awarded the best news series by the Associated Press of Indiana. She also received the prestigious Gracie award which is a national award given out by the Alliance for Women in Media.

She is not married. Nevertheless, she is engaged to her boyfriend Dave and the two have been in a relationship for quite some time. When she is outside the newsroom, she always loves working out whether it is Pilates, spin, or anything that challenges her. She is a self-described news nerd, and she enjoys reading non-fiction books and her TIME and O magazines. Being from Indiana, she loves college football and always looks forward to watching the game.
