Following the announcement of the contestants in the season, e wrote on an Instagram post, “2010 It all started here! At 28 years of age, with no experience and straight off the set of @masterchefau series 1, Andre’s Cucina & Polenta Bar was born. An anomaly of a restaurant, so different that it will forever be inimitable. We struck a chord with Adelaide diners and soon became an institution—not only for our patrons but also for the amazing staff culture that nurtured so many through tough times. A wild and passionate team of young crew members doing something unique, we recognized that nowadays there isn’t much true originality in our culture. This little place was genuinely unique.

Soon after opening, we received high praise from significant critics and awarded many meaningful accolades. This little rocket ship restaurant was fueled by a passion for Italian food and celebration of culture. Although we closed in 2020, I went on to develop @orsokensington @lostphoenixfarm @vporcini ushering in a new era. While I still hear from people who miss the Polenta Bar, I remind them that all good things must eventually come to an end. Though we have all gone our separate ways, Hana and I will forever be thankful to @roshirodkar patty @mauro.gulli @navinder @kanite37 @calstueybish @andi_salad

The ideas for Andre’s Cucina & Polenta Bar were born through cooking on Masterchef series 1 and for that, I am grateful. Now, after 16 years, I am heading back into the fray of @masterchefau to dance again with the magic of culinary arts.

While I’m away, the number one person who is the very foundation of our success is @hanaursini holding it all down like a true hero and superwoman X.”
