April Loveland is an American Journalist and the weekend meteorologist at WTKR News 3 in Norfolk, Virginia. Her forecasts run on Wednesday through Friday at 10 p.m. on WGNT, and Saturdays and Sundays on both WTKR and WGNT. She joined the First Warning Storm Team in May 2016. Prior to joining the News 3 team, she was the morning meteorologist and reporter at WAGM-TV in Presque Isle, Maine. She spent almost 3 years forecasting snow in feet! Her first winter in Maine was a snowy one, receiving 158 inches. Before landing a job in Maine, April was an intern at WJET/WFXP in Erie, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Geneva, Ohio.
She went to study at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and is a proud Cardinal. She received her Bachelor of Science in Meteorology/Climatology and her Bachelor of Science in Geography in December 2012. While attending Ball State, she had the opportunity to spend two weeks in the Great Plains chasing storms.

She also enjoys reading, watching movies, hiking, bargain shopping and just trying new things. She loves being in Hampton Roads and forecasting the dynamic and ever-changing weather of the region.
