Bailey Sullivan is a Chicago rising star in Italian Cuisine.She is the Chef Di Cucina Monteverde and a contestant in the 22nd season of Top Chef – Top Chef:Destination Canada.
Born and raised in Chicago, Chef Bailey Sullivan grew up immersed in the hospitality industry, spending her early years in her father’s iconic pub, Goldyburgers. Inspired by the kitchen from a young age, she pursued her passion at Kendall College, where she gained hands-on experience working at a two Michelin-starred restaurant in Chicago.
Her culinary journey took shape under Chef Matthias Merges at Yusho Logan Square, where she developed a deep appreciation for Asian ingredients and ramen. She later refined her skills at “Top Chef” alum Beverly Kim’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Parachute, before joining Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio to master handmade pasta and regional Italian cuisine under James Beard Award-winning chef Sarah Grueneberg.
Renowned for her ability to blend seasonal produce, global flavors, and traditional Italian techniques, Chef Bailey has gained recognition for embracing the “atipica” side of Italian cuisine—putting a bold, whimsical twist on classic dishes.
When she is not crafting innovative plates, you will find Bailey Sullivan indulging in karaoke nights or spending time with her beloved cats, Giuseppe and Arthas.

She is competing alongside other 14 chefs who are ; Kat Turner, Anna “Anya” El-Wattar, Paula Endara, Tristen Epps, Corwin Hemming, Katianna Hong, Lana Lagomarsini, Henry Lu, Vincenzo “Vinny” Loseto, Zubair Mohajir, César Murillo, Massimo Piedimonte ,Shuai Wang and Mimi Weissenborn.
This season’s grand prize includes $250,000; $125,000 in Delta flight credit; a feature in Food & Wine magazine; and an appearance at the annual Food & Wine Classic. Plus, the winner will have a chance to present at The James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards in Chicago, Ill., and to headline an exclusive dinner at the James Beard house in New York. Quickfire Challenges are back, so the chefs will also be competing for $150,000 in cash prizes throughout the season.
