Bobeth Yates is an American television news reporter for 11Alive since October 2022. She is also a journalist, meteorologist, and reporter with multiple sets of skills. She joined CBS46 from WWSB in Sarasota, Florida, where she served a dual role of general assignment reporter and co-host for the lifestyle show “Suncoast View”. She left CBS46 in October 2022. As one of the three hosts on “Suncoast View,” she took part in thought-provoking discussions impacting the community. Before she joined WWSB, she worked as a reporter in Fort Myers, Florida, Savannah, Georgia, Panama City, Florida, and Great Falls, Montana.
She is originally from Jamaica W.I. but grew up in South Florida. She received her Master’s in Broadcast Journalism from the S. I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University and her Bachelor’s in Mass Communication from Florida State University. She also got her meteorology certification from Mississippi State University. She got her first job while attending Florida State University. It started off as an internship but later when she finished she got a job. She later worked as a writer for MTV and NBC before getting on-air reporting jobs.
She has also worked as a news reporter for WGCL/CBS46, a reporter for ABC 7 WWSB-TV, and WFTX Fox 4 as a reporter and weekend weather in Savannah, Georgia area. Additionally, she has worked at WJCL/FOX 28 and WJHG NBC Channel 7 among other networks.
