Brittany Anderson is an American Chef and Co-Owner of Metzger Bar and Butchery, Brenner Pass, and Black Lodge, Richmond, Virginia Leni, Washington, D.C. She was a contestant on Season 18 of Bravo televisions’ reality cooking show Top Chef that debuted on Thursday, April 1, 2021. The show was filmed in Portland, Oregon. Brittany’s love for cooking began at an early age and she took it upon herself to drive her passion home. She undertook her studies at the French Culinary Institute in New York City.
She is an all-time chef and the co-owner of four restaurants namely, Brenner Pass, Metzger Bar, Leni in Washington, D.C., and Black Lodge in Richmond, Virginia. After her schooling, she went for her traineeship program at Blue Hill at Stone Barn and went ahead to learn more about sustainable ways of looking for farm products that would be used for cooking. After a while, she proceeded and joined Northern Spy Food Company in Manhattan, East Village as they opened up. She managed to rise up the ranks and became a sous chef then made her way back to Virginia and pioneered the opening of her restaurant.
She opened her restaurant Metzger in 2014 which centers on dishes influenced by the German culture with a keen eye on sustainable and seasonal ingredients. Her cooking style seeks to change classic cuisine with modern presentation and locally sourced ingredients. The success of Metzger in the United States and its borders to international levels enabled her to expand her brand with another modern European restaurant, cheese company, bar, coffee shop, and a business in seafood distribution selling crabs from Northern Neck, Virginia. She has been a co-host in a virtual cheese class known as Cave Culture. She has been a semi-finalist two times in the James Beard Award for Best Chef Mid-Atlantic.
