Buddha Lo is an Executive Chef, at Huso, the Michelin plate restaurant inside Marky’s Caviar serving an 8-course tasting menu. He became the winner of Top Chef Houston season 19. He was a contestant in season 19 of the cooking television series Top Chef: Houston, which was in its nineteenth season in 2022. The show – Top Chef airs on Bravo television, every Thursday. Buddha learned the foundations of flavor and the rules of the kitchen at a very young age by working for his father at his family’s Chinese restaurant in Port Douglas, Australia.
At the age of 14, he pursued his career by working at a 5-star resort on the weekends. After he completed culinary school, the executive chef relocated to London to work at the three Michelin-starred restaurants Gordon Ramsay. While working there, he was privileged to meet his mentor, Clare Smyth. After a while, he then moved to New York City and spent a year at three Michelin-starred restaurants Eleven Madison Park where he learned to push himself in the world of fine dining. In May 2018, he proposed to Pedler while they were on a paddleboat in a lake in Central Park, New York. They later got married the same year.
