Charlene White whose birth name is Charlene Denise White is a British television host and journalist. She presents programmes like Loose Women and ITV News. She is a resident of South London.
Previously, she has hosted several shows including her own night talk show on BBC London 94.9. She has also presented BBC News, Radio 5 Live Morning Reports, BBC Three 60 Seconds, and worked at BBC Look East. In the past, she has also served as a reporter as well as in production for ITV News Meridian on ITV Meridian. She went to work with Radio 1 Newsbeat as a reporter in the year 2002. Partnering with DJ Money, she became a presenter of a show/ documentary dubbed TX and its news journal in 2005.
She became part of ITN in 2008 as a news anchor for ITV News at 5:30 on ITV. In addition to that, she also was the presenter of three short opts which went on air as part of GMTV. She stopped partaking in the roles in October 2012 only remaining as a presenter of the main programme of ITV News London.
She was recognized as the first black woman to present ITV News at Ten on April 9, 2014. She became the deputy lead presenter of ITV News London 6 pm programme from May 30, 2019.
Her first presentation of Loose Women was on August 12, 2020. She came back on January 11, 2021, to be a regular presenter after Andrea McLean’s left the show.
She has also been featured in films like 60 seconds, Tonight and BBC Look East among others in the capacity of a reporter, anchor, or presenter. She has been put on the list of Top 100 Most Influential People in the UK of African/African-Caribbean origin in the 2020/2021 editions of Powerlist.
She went to school at Riverston School and Blackheath High School in southeast London. She proceeded to the London College of Printing thereby graduating.
