Chigs Parmar born Will Chirag is a Sales Manager from Leicester. He is a contestant in The Great British Bake Off 2021. He started his baking journey at the start of the first lockdown in 2020. He taught himself how to bake during the lockdown by watching online videos and tutorials. Speaking about the final 2021 episode of the channel 4 series, he said: “I’m nervous, excited – every emotion you can feel, I’m having right now. It’s absolutely crazy I’ve been on this journey. I think my imposter syndrome is gone now though, I’ve done pretty decently and I deserve my spot in the final,” he added His grandfather in particular has been his “inspiration from a very young age”, suggesting he often makes cakes.
In the competition, he will go head-to-head against Giuseppe Dell’Anno and Crystelle Pereira in the last episode of the 2021 series next Tuesday, November 23, 2021. In the season, he has been a fan favorite in the competition. Chigs won star baker on week eight. The bakers were required to create gluten-free bakes, dairy, and even make a vegan. He was successful with his ice-cream sandwich signature bake and his vegan sausage roll technical. On week 4, he was titled Star Baker earning a Hollywood handshake for his pavlova.
Besides his official job and his participation in the competition, he also is greatly involved in activities such as bouldering, skydiving, and trekking.

From a very young age, Parmar was raised by his mother after the death of his father. After the Great British Bake Off, he issued a heartbreaking tribute to his late father after the final. He revealed he had lost his father when he was “really young” on the hit Channel 4 show. He said: “I lost my father when I was really young. He died really young. So I just take every opportunity in my life that I can now. I’m not going to wait for something to happen. If I want to do something, I’m going to do it.”
After the final episode went on air, he paid tribute to his dad on his Instagram, saying: “I know my Dad would be proud of what I have achieved. If you love doing something, and it brings you joy and puts a smile on your face, just do it. You never know what will happen.
He said: “I lost my father when I was really young. He died really young. So I just take every opportunity in my life that I can now. Thank you mum for being my rock and putting up with me. Love you. Xx”
He also left a message to fans of the show. He wrote: “Hello you lovely lot, it’s a wrap! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever make it on to Bake-off let alone reach the final. I wanted to use the experience to become a better baker, showcasing what I had learnt on the greatest baking show in the world. The biggest high was meeting such amazing bakers all of whom I now consider friends for life and I want to sincerely thank them all for supporting me through this journey.
