Costa Georgiadis is an Australian landscape architect and television presenter. He is a second-generation Australian of Greek descent. He worked as a landscaper whilst studying landscape architecture at the University of New South Wales, where he developed an interest in sustainability. From 2009 to 2011, he presented SBS’s Costa’s Garden Odyssey, a programme that explored the relationship between gardening, sustainability, and spirituality.
On December 20, 2011, ABC announced that he would replace Stephen Ryan as the host of Gardening Australia. In 2014, he starred as ‘Costa the Garden Gnome in Get Grubby TV on ABC Kids. At the 2019 Logie Awards, Georgiadis won the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter and was nominated for the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television for his hosting role on Gardening Australia.
He attended Rose Bay Primary School and his first performing role was in a Grade 3 play. Not surprisingly he was the king in the play but was deposed by none other than the television star Larry Emdur (who currently co-hosts the Morning Show). Costa said: “It was a pivotal experience. I was taken down! I have been trying to get back ever since.” He is a qualified Landscape Architect and studied at the University of NSW.

She was a country girl from Tumut, and her parents ran their own business, like my electrician dad, Stan. We had great times together and went out for four years, but I’d always said that once I had qualified, I was going to travel. I didn’t expect her to wait for me, so when she found a new relationship I accepted that.”

He was born in Sydney and grew up in North Bondi on the same street as his grandparents and uncle. He is the youngest of three children. His two older sisters are Elisa and Julie. His father, Stan, was an electrician and his mother Anne passed away in 2002.
Georgiadis’ grandparents fostered his early interest in gardening. His paternal grandmother was named Julia and his grandfather was named Constantine.
His maternal grandmother, Elpida, lived down the road from his family in North Bondi. Elpida’s husband Isaac (Georgiadis’s maternal grandfather) passed on earlier on.
