Daren Zenner originally Daren Tomas Zenner was a Canadian light heavyweight boxer. His career record was 27-4-2 (27 Wins (19 knockouts, 8 decisions), 4 Losses (2 knockouts, 2 decisions), and 2 Draws). He died at the age of 48 on May 13, 2020. He once was ranked seventh in the world. The retired boxer fought his first professional bout in 1990 and retired in the year 2000.
He finished kindergarten through Grade 9 at the Bezanson Consolidated School before going on to attend High School in Sexsmith. He was very athletic and participated in a variety of sports; however, boxing proved to be his sport of choice. In 1988, the boxer managed to win a gold medal in boxing at the Alberta Winter Games that were held in Red Deer, after which, he moved to Edmonton where he trained at the Panther Gym alongside Ken Lakusta who was the Canadian reigning Champion at that time. He then moved to Dallas Texas where he underwent training and was coached by Curtis Cokes who had been a welterweight champion. after some time in, 1991, he made the move to New York where he would reside, train and fight for several years. Daren became the USBA Regional Super Middleweight Champion in October 1994, which was followed by the Westchester USBA and the NY State Super Middleweight Champion in October 1995.
After his retirement in 2000, he went aboard a new career as a mortgage broker and real-estate agent private investor where he bought and flipped residential and commercial properties. The departed boxer in due course moved to Florida where he semi-retired. He continued working in the real estate industry and still has a large following of New York boxing fans. He made a decision to return home to Canada in the year 2018.
