Ellie Leach is an English actress. Born in Manchester, Leach attended Fairfield High School for Girls.
Leach commenced her television journey by featuring in commercials for Staples and McDonald’s. She transitioned to the big screen in 2009 with a role in the film “A Boy Called Dad.” The following year, she made an appearance as Stacy in an episode of “Moving On.”
In 2011, she secured the role of Faye Butler, a potential adoptive child for Anna (Debbie Rush) and Eddie Windass (Steve Huison) in the popular ITV soap opera “Coronation Street.” After a remarkable 12-year stint, Leach confirmed her departure from the show in April 2023. Although initially reported as her voluntary decision with the possibility of a return, it was later revealed that the show’s producers had opted to axe her character due to an apparent lack of future storyline potential.
After her exit from “Coronation Street,” Leach joined the lineup of contestants for the twenty-first series of the BBC dance competition “Strictly Come Dancing.” Paired with professional dancer Vito Coppola, she clinched victory in the competition. At the age of 22, she became the youngest celebrity to win the show, surpassing the previous record holder, Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, who won at 23 during series ten.
