Erika Casupanan is a Canadian national of Filipino descent who resides in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is best recognized as the winner of the American Survivor series season 41. Casupanan became the first woman to win Survivor in seven seasons when she was crowned the champion of Survivor 41 in a blowout 7-1-0 vote over Deshawn Radden and Xander Hastings. Casupanan also became the first Canadian to ever win the game after Canadian nationals were first allowed to play beginning in season 39. Casupanan won the $1-million prize, beating out four other finalists to be crowned the season’s Survivor. On December 15, 2021, the show’s finale, Casupanan competed for and won $1 million alongside four remaining contestants. She found an advantage and won the final five immunity challenges.
Prior to joining the reality show, she worked as a communication manager. According to her LinkedIn profile, her official title was Senior Manager in Marketing Communications at Kijiji Canada. Kijiji is a classifieds site in Canada, and Casupanan headed communications and Public Relations for the company, as well as its Auto counterpart. She was employed at the company from February 2017 until March 2021.
Before she went to work at Kijiji, she worked at the communications firm, Media Profile, for almost five years. She began working as a Public Relationship Intern in 2012, then gradually scaled up the ladder to be an Account Coordinator, Consultant, and Senior Consultant. Some of her projects included Google Canada, PlayStation Canada, Epson Canada, Grocery Gateway, and others.
Casupanan undertook her studies at Western University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media, Information, and Technoculture in 2011. She also did a collaborative program with Fanshawe College, where she received a diploma in Multimedia Design & Production in 2011. She then received her post-graduate certificate in Public Relations from Humber College in 2012.
