Chef Gabi is a plant-based and seasonally inspired chef and educator currently based in NYC.
She is a 2016 graduate of Penn State, with dual degrees in Spanish and Journalism. She is a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education’s Health Supportive Culinary Arts program (formerly the Natural Gourmet Institute).
Gabi works in culinary education, recipe development, catering, and private chef. Her goal is to provide practical, engaging, and nourishing cooking tips that focus on utilizing what produce is available to us year-round.
Before choosing the culinary way, she spent 6 years as a freelance creative producer. She worked with brands and agencies, often managing teams of designers and copywriters and helping clients reach their full creative potential. She worked as a journalist and on-camera reporter, working with publications and news stations covering anything from the arts to sports.
Her culinary passion started when she responded to an on-camera talent role for Conde Nast’s Epicurious. She was featured as a “home chef”, but during that time she felt herself falling in love with the art of cooking. In September 2020 she applied to be a student at the Institute of Culinary Education to earn a certificate in their Health Supportive program (formerly Natural Gourmet Institute aka hippie vegan cooking school).
