Jamie Tran is the Chef and Owner of the Vietnamese restaurant The Black Sheep from Las Vegas, Nevada. She was also a contestant in Top Chef season 18 on Bravo-TV contesting alongside other 14 chefs from different parts of the United States. She realized her passion for cooking at an early age and progressed to school. She went to study at San Francisco State University graduating with a degree in business. After that, she proceeded to Le Cordon Bleu to study.
After her studies, she went up to be a sous chef at Charlie Palmer’s Aureole in Las Vegas and also the head chef at DB Brasserie by Daniel Boulud, as stated in Food & Wine. She opened her own restaurant, Black Sheep in 2017 and was recognized by Eater earning the title “Chef of the Year” and named Black Sheep “Restaurant of the Year.” Her way of cooking is influenced by the Vietnamese style which was influenced by her mother and added Korean style where her parents settled for a while. On top of that, her father is also a chef. She has worked with famous restaurants and chefs such as Charlie Palmer’s Aureole, Vincent Pouessel, The Venetian, and DB Brasserie by Daniel Boulud.
