Jeff Glor originally named Jeffrey Todd Glor is an American award-winning journalist who is a co-host of CBS This Morning: Saturday. He is also the CBS News special correspondent. Prior to working in that position, he was an anchor for the CBS Evening News.

His early journalism career was serving as a co-anchor for WSTM-TV Syracuse’s 5 p.m. newscast and reporting for the 11 p.m. newscast from the year 2000 to 2003. For three years, (1997-2000) he served as the morning news anchor in the same media outlet. He became part of the media outlet working as a part-time producer as he progressed with his studies in college. The Syracuse New Times titled him as “Best Male News Anchor” and also one of the 40 most promising professionals under the age of 40. Besides that, he assisted in research work and writing on The Legal Handbook for N.Y. State Journalists. He proceeded to work as an evening news anchor during the weekend and did reporting during the weekdays for the Boston-based media house WHDH from 2003 to 2007.

In 2007, he left for CBS News to work as co-anchor and afterward the Saturday Early Show newsreader. Part of his duties also involved doing reports on weekdays for the Early Show. The reports were made up of presidential campaigns among other stories. From 2009 – 2010 he became the Saturday edition anchor of CBS Evening News. Besides that, he did reports for other telecasts for example CBS Sunday Morning and CBS Evening News leading him to win an Emmy award.

From January 2011 to January 2012, he did anchoring of The Early Show. In 2012, he became the anchor for The Saturday Edition of CBS This Morning which had then been opened. From 2012 to 2016 he was the anchor of CBS Evening News – Sunday part. From 2013 to 2014, he reported on extended investigations for CBS Evening News.

On October 25, 2017, a statement was released by CBS that he would serve as the new permanent anchor for the CBS Evening News as a replacement of Scott Pelley. He took over the position on December 4, 2017. In the same month, he had an interview with French President Emmanuel Macron after Donald Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. out of the 2015 Paris Accords.

He revived the segment “Eye on America” on May 29, 2018, whereby he did a wide range of investigations. He won the 2018 SPJ award for network investigations. A change of guard in 2019 led him to be part of co-hosting CBS This Morning: Saturday as well as reporting feature stories and investigative reports.

Glor studied at the Kenmore East High Senior High School, which is a public high school in Tonawanda, New York. He then went on to graduate magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 1997 with two degrees in economics and broadcast journalism. While still studying at Syracuse, he got awarded the Henry J. Wolff prize, given to the Newhouse student “most proficient in journalism.”
