Kat Turner is an American executive chef at Summit Series and partner at Highly Likely Los Angeles, California. She is also a contestant on Top Chef Season 22 will premiere on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The show is dubbed Top Chef: Destination Canada.
She is a 2-times Chopped champion on Food Network. Kat narrates that she fell in love with cooking at an early age with her mom’s extensive and global cookbook collection.
Coming from Sturgeon Bay, Winsconsin, she went on to study and is a 1999 graduate from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre based on her LinkedIn profile.
Following school and graduation, she ventured into Hollywood and became an actress as well as a burlesque dancer. She then decided to pursue her passion of cooking full-time and enrolled to Natural Gourmet Institute in New York to pursue her culinary career. While at Natural Gourmet Institute in New York she also had a stint at at Blue Hill.
She then relocated to Los Angeles working as a private chef. She managed to bag clientele such as Smashing Pumpkins whom she traveled around the world with.
Kat also served as a culinary producer, organizing high-profile events for Summit Series and other clients.
Currently working at Highly Likely in Los Angeles, she showcases her unique cooking style that melds classic recipes with international flavors and techniques to create accessible dishes with a familiar but provocative quality.
According to Highly Likely’s website, they source from local, sustainable vendors, serving food, coffee and drinks. The restaurant meshes comfort with variety and uniqueness.

The Sturgeon Bay, Winscosin native is one of 15 contestants competing in Season 22 of Top Chef – Top Chef: Destination Canada. The winner of Top Chef season 22 will receive $250,000 furnished by the Saratoga Brand, a feature in Food and Wine magazine, and an appearance at the annual “Food and Wine Classic” in Aspen.

She is a two-times Chopped champion on Food Network. She appeared in “Chopped Legends Tournament.” Kat won the “Legends: Chris Santos” episode in September 2024 and made it to the finale, where she was eliminated after the entrée round.
The Sturgeon Bay chef also competed and won in the “Chopped: Casino Royale Tournament” in January 2023.
Kat Turner Family
Chef Kat hails from a prominent Wisconsin family. Her grandfather, businessman Patrick E. Haggerty, was the co-founder of Texas Instruments and owner of Palmer Johnson Yachts, a company founded as Sturgeon Bay Boat Works in 1918.
Marquette University’s Patrick and Beatrice Haggerty Museum of Art, also known as “the Haggerty,” is named for Kat’s grandfather and grandmother. Patrick Haggerty graduated from Marquette in 1936.
