Kate Alexa born Kate Alexa Gudinski is a pop-rock singer and songwriter from Australia. She is also known for being the daughter of the late Michael Gudinski who was an established businessman, music promoter, and entrepreneur. Her popularity sparked in 2004 after her song dubbed Always There was featured in the series Home and Away on Australia’s Channel 7 television. Her popularity also increased as a result of her support for the Backstreet Boys in their Australian tour. Upon her release of her single All I Hear after the tour it tremendously performed well and became part of ARIA’s top ten for some time.
Her career in music started at the age of 13 as she wrote her first song and began doing demos. The first song she recorded was “Colors of the Rainbow.” In 2004, she was signed under Liberation Music for a record deal. It was her father’s label. Her single “Always There” led to her popularity. Her second single was produced in 2005 after she graduated from high school followed by her third single “All I Hear” in 2006. She also released “Somebody Out There” the same year and her first album Broken and Beautiful.
As the year 2008 was beginning, she has been working on her second album dubbed “Infatuation” and was released in 2012. She had however released some other videos and singles were released in 2011. She was among the line-up of Wet and Wild in Queensland in 2010. She has also released videos linked to her album Infatuation.
She attended Melbourne Girls Grammar School and studied Photography, English, Legal Studies, and IT. She also plays the piano and is a learner of the guitar. Besides that, she loved photography while in school and is interested in fashion, ie by designing flat shoes such as ballet flats.
