Leia Gaccione is a producer, Chef, and Owner of south+pine American eatery in Morristown, New Jersey. She was a contestant in season 19 of Top Chef. The show is an American cooking reality show that airs on Bravo television. 15 contestants are competing against each other to earn the title of Top Chef and a grand prize worth $250,000, together with, S.Pellegrino Sparkling Natural Mineral Water and a feature in Food & Wine, and an appearance at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. Throughout the season, chefs will have the opportunity to earn prizes by kind courtesy of the in-show partners: Mastercard, Talenti, Chipotle, Universal Pictures’ Jurassic Park: Dominion, and VRBO. She is representing her hometown, Morristown, New Jersey. The show was filmed in Houston Texas. She has previously appeared on Top Chef in 2006. She was however eliminated before the show came to the end.
As a child, she was enamored with cooking shows like “Yan Can Cook” and “Julia Child.” As an adult, she studied culinary arts and restaurant management at the New York Restaurant School and has trained in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Las Vegas, before opening south+pine in 2015.
