Lori Pinson is an American Emmy award-winning Meteorologist currently working with FOX 2 Detroit. She has worked all over as a meteorologist. Philadelphia, DC, Lancaster, Cincinnati, and even Detroit for the CBS program, First Forecast Mornings. In the past, she has been the Chief Meteorologist in Baltimore and she won an Emmy and NWA Broadcaster of the Year for creating “Signed Weather”. She went back to school to learn American Sign Language (ASL) so that people with hard of hearing and deaf viewers could understand her forecast in their language. She felt it was the most rewarding thing she had done on television.
She has both the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) and National Weather Association (NWA) seals of approval. She was appointed to serve as a seal evaluator for the National Weather Association (NWA), upholding the guidelines set for potential seal candidates.
She has over 5 years of postgraduate meteorology work, most recently studying at Johns Hopkins University for Environmental Science & Policy. In addition to the weather, she loves to write. She has been fortunate enough to receive numerous Society of Professional Journalists and Associated Press awards for writing and Best Weather! She is also working on her award-winning Fox 2 series, “Lori’s Hidden Michigan”. She attended a local school and then later joined Penn State University for her studies.

I’ve fished the Detroit River and flown radio control planes with my Dad at River Rouge. I went to Pistons and Tigers games with my Mom (and still do!) Our relatives worked on the Scott Fountain and Windsor Tunnel. In short, I am Michigan Proud!”
