Max Van Peebles is an American actor and assistant film director, known for Whip It (2009), New Jack City (1991), and Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song (1971). He is also the bass Player for Public Access TV, a New York Band.
He is widely recognized for being the son of the late Melvin Van Peebles was an American actor, filmmaker, playwright, novelist, and composer, and his ex-wife, Maria Marx. His father was majorly known for creating and starring in the film Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song. In 2017, Methane Momma, a short film directed by Alain Rimbert, featured Van Peebles and his narration of poetic work with the accompaniment of music by The Heliocentrics.
