Maxy is a Swedish-born architectural assistant residing in London, United Kingdom. She is a contestant in series 13 of The Great British Bake Off 2022. The baking show premiered on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, on Channel 4 at 8 pm. It will also premiere on Netflix on Friday, September 16, 2022. The number of contestants in the series is twelve.
She studied fine art and went on to achieve a Master’s degree in Architecture, pausing her final qualifications to raise her two daughters. Maxy is hands-on and has been able to DIY every part of her flat beginning with laying the flooring and resurfacing the balcony to painting the walls and hanging her own artwork. Her baking journey started in 2017 with the birth of her first daughter. She applies her strong artistic skills to create beautifully decorated celebration cakes. Her favorite flavors link to her Scandinavian upbringing – the sweet and delicate spice of cardamom and saffron buns and cinnamon rolls.

She is a contestant in series 13 of the Great British Bake Off 2022. Speaking about appearing on the show, she said: “I have always been a Bake Off fan, but never did I expect to ever be in the tent baking, did not feel as if I was a good enough baker! Friends and family have urged me to apply but I never knew if they were actually being serious or not.”
She added: “I decided to apply in the end, and if I am, to be honest, never expected to receive a callback. When I received a call confirming my place I was in disbelief, over the moon, I was pinching myself and constantly felt like I must have been dreaming. I was also a little confused, what? me? how? haha. But overall ecstatic, felt like I had won the lottery. I still cannot believe it.”
Speaking about her strengths and weaknesses, she added: “I would say that cakes are my strength and bread and pastries are my weaknesses.”
