Mercy Wanjau is a Kenyan national who has been appointed as the new secretary to the cabinet by president William Ruto. She has been working as the Director of Legal Services at the Communications Authority of Kenya since October 2021. Prior to that, she was the Former Acting Communications Authority of Kenya Director-General. If approved by the national assembly, Wanjau will take over from Joseph Kinyua who has been holding the docket in an acting capacity since 2015 following the resignation of Francis Kimemia.
