Mike Turner is a retired firefighter who was a contestant in the forty-second season of the American competition television series Survivor. The season premiered on March 9, 2022, on CBS in the United States. He was a finalist in the competition battling it out against Romeo Escobar and Maryanne Oketch. As the series came to an end, he ranked as the first runner-up defeating Romeo Escobar and being led by Maryanne Oketch as the Sole Survivor. According to his bio on the CBS Network website, he describes himself as loyal, loud, and fair. He goes on to say that his greatest accomplishment is bringing up his children. He describes his background as not being a good home life and he never knew how to be a father. However, he watched other good fathers, learned, and raised two amazing kids that he is very proud of.
When asked about something people would never know from looking at him he said that he is sensitive, caring, and gets his feelings hurt. He also describes himself as being smart and concerned for the less fortunate people. He also adds that he loves learning and is a straight arrow.
The interview continues, “Who is your hero and why? Not sure if I have any heroes, but I have people I looked up to and who taught me about life, how to be a father, a hard worker, honest, and loyal: Capt. Stankiswiez, John O’Brien, Aunt Ruth, and Uncle David.”
“Which past Survivor will you play the game most like? I would love to play like Boston Rob. Not sure it will work out that way but I really believe that I have all the great attributes of all the great players.”
He believes he will be the Sole Survivor since he thinks he possesses all the attributes needed. He goes on to say that he will be a beast in challenges, a worker in the camp, yet he will make people believe he is not a threat until it is too late. He adds that he also has the gift of gab! and that people will like him “(even Jeff)” he adds.
