Mithika Linturi is a Kenyan politician and the cabinet secretary for Agriculture awaiting approval by the national assembly. Previously, he was the Senator of Meru County, Kenya. He was the representative of Meru County to the Senate of Kenya elected in the 2017 Kenyan General election on a Jubilee Party ticket. In the 2022 general elections, he vied for the governor seat but lost. He previously belonged to the Kenya African National Union and was elected to represent the Igembe South Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election a position he retained until 2017 when he became a senator. While a Member of Parliament for Igembe South he served for 10 years. He hails from Akachiu, Igembe South Constituency of Meru County.
Prior to joining politics, he worked as an insurance broker, before being elected as a Kanu MP for Igembe South in 2007. He worked in the insurance industry as an agent for a number of insurance firms before he founded Arkehoice Insurance Brokers Ltd in 1999 where he is the managing director. The firm is based in Meru town with branches in Nairobi and Maua town. For his education, he started his studies at Amwamba primary school before proceeding to Igembe Boys Secondary School for his high school studies. After completing High School he joined the Kenya Institute of Marketing for his Diploma in Marketing. Later, he pursued a Certificate Course in insurance at the College of Insurance. He, later on, went to Meru Technical College to pursue CPA (Certified public accountant) Course.
Following his vetting, Minority Whip Junet Mohammed tabled a report of the committee on Appointments approving cabinet nominees except for Linturi, Aisha Jumwa, and Peninah Malonza.
