Robby Unser is an American former Indy Racing League driver and nine-time winner of the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. He is also known for being the son of Bobby Unser who was an American automobile racer. Robby was the IRL rookie of the year in 1998. He made two starts in the Indianapolis 500 with a best finish of 5th in 1998. He also finished second twice in the 1998 season, his best IRL finish. His last IRL start came in 2000, his 21st IRL race. He made his drifting debut in the 2007 Formula D season driving for Enjuku Racing. The team had its first win in Denver on June 29, 2007. From 2014 to 2015 Robby was heading the “Team Speedway Racing Team” of Speedway Motors of Lincoln, NE in a 17 event Goodguys AutoCross series.
His father Bobby, of the Unser family, has won the Indy 500 a record nine times. He was one of ten drivers to have won the Indianapolis 500 three or more times and one of only two (followed by Rick Mears) to have won the 500 in three decades (1968, 1975, 1981).

His father Bobby Unser passed on on May 2, 2021, at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was 87 years old. He died of natural causes and the news of his death was announced by Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a news release on Monday. The announcement was confirmed by his wife, Lisa Unser.
