Roscoe Hall is a chef and artist working in a variety of media. He was a contestant in season 18 of the Top Chef cooking reality television show on Bravo-TV. He hails from Chicago, Illinois but after his high school studies, he moved to Birmingham when he was 17. In the recent past, he has worked as the head chef for Rodney Scott’s BBQ and is also the operations manager for three projects at the Pizitz Food Hall. His most current position is being a Culinary Director for Post Office Pies and is also working on the exhibition of his latest art.

While still coming up, he trained at Bottega kitchen being taught by Frank Stitt skills in cooking, and also learned at Chez Fonfon and Hot and Hot Fish Club. He s the first contestant on the show from Birmingham. Previously, he has been a resident chef for Jones Valley Teaching Farm’s Twilight Supper. It is a dinner series that raised funds for urban community gardens. He has also worked with
Chef David Chang at Momofuku Saam Bar, Rodney Scott’s BBQ, and other reputable places.

He announced his participation as a contestant in Top Chef through an Instagram post that he wrote, “So…ughh…here we go. I packed my knives and went to Portland. This is hilarious and awesome!!! Life is such a trip. Shoutout to all my chef homies though. Watch me and the crew crush in April. “
