Ryan Channing was an Australian-born model, lawyer, and creator of the skincare brand Blaq. He was famously known for being in a relationship (previously) with Ian Thorpe, an Australian retired swimmer who specialized in freestyle but also competed in backstroke and the individual medley. He has won five Olympic gold medals, the most won by any Australian along with fellow swimmer Emma McKeon. With three gold and two silver medals, Thorpe was the most successful athlete at the 2000 Summer Olympics, held in his hometown of Sydney.
Thorpe, who was nicknamed Thorpedo in the pool, won a total of nine Olympic medals throughout his successful sporting career. As we seek answers and try to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss of my beautiful big brother, we ask for your prayers, support, and privacy, he will be forever loved, never forgotten, and forever young. To my big brother, I love you, I’ll see you one day soon you’ll be missed more than you know❤️ ( no this wasn’t covid related).
Meanwhile, his sister Charis Channing also spoke about his untimely passing online, writing: “Saying goodbye to you on Sunday was the hardest thing my family and I have ever had to do. 32 years young your gone too soon 🤍 As we seek answers and try to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss of my brother, we ask for your prayers, support, and privacy. I know you will be looking down on us and we love you lots.”
