Sarah Abo is an Australian journalist and the presenter of Today. She is a former reporter with 60 Minutes Australia since February 2019. Prior to joining 60 Minutes, she served as a reporter and presenter for SBS World News, SBS Small Business Secrets, and a contributor to Dateline and Insight. According to her bio on LinkedIn, she began her career at Network Ten in Adelaide as a reporter and presenter, before moving back home to the Network Ten Melbourne newsroom. Sarah joined SBS World News in 2013. She was a 2016 US Presidential Election correspondent for SBS News. In 2017 she traveled to Lebanon to cover the Syrian refugee crisis for SBS international current affairs program, Dateline. Sarah was a guest host of SBS Insight in 2017, ‘Diagnosing Autism: Are We Getting It Right?’.
In 2016, she was embedded with the Australian Defence Force reporting from Kabul, Afghanistan in April 2016. Sarah was part of host broadcaster SBS’s 2014 Brazil World Cup coverage, anchoring the sports bulletin nightly from the Rio studio, as well as live news updates throughout the evening and late news bulletins. She filed news stories daily and a documentary for Dateline. Sarah was a 2014 CNN Journalism Fellow, spending three weeks at the broadcaster’s HQ in Atlanta, where she also reported on President Barack Obama’s speech on combating ISIS, and America’s welfare system. In 2015, she traveled to Paris, to report on the COP21 Climate Conference.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Journalism from Monash University.

Nine News confirmed Sarah Abo as the new co-host of Today alongside Karl Stefanovic. This step comes after Allison Langdon moved to A Current Affair.

Sarah’s reputation precedes her; she is a compelling interviewer and journalist, as we’ve seen, not only on 60 Minutes but also during her time at SBS and 10. Professionally, she is at the top of her game, and just as importantly, Sarah is an amazing person who will help drive Today to continued success in 2023. We’re very fortunate to have Sarah as part of our team.”
Following the confirmation, Sarah said, “I am thrilled to be joining the wonderful and hard-working team at Today, who manage to inform the nation every morning while also having a lot of fun.”

Karl Stefanovic who will be her co-host said, “Ally has been extraordinary over the last three years. Battling through some tough personal physical obstacles to broadcast to the country during really difficult times. She’s an incredible broadcaster and I’ll miss working with her tremendously. Though, I won’t miss her dancing.

Sarah joins Karl, Alex Cullen, Brooke Boney, and Tim Davies on Monday, January 16, 2023, when she will officially start her new role. Langdon will also start her new role in January.
