Sasha Grumman is an American Executive Chef at Hilton – C. Baldwin Hotel of Rosalie Italian Soul since October 2019. She was a cast member of Top Chef a cooking television show on Bravo-TV that premiered for its 18th season on Thursday, April 1, 2021. She would compete against Chef Dawn Burrell who is also from Houston. She went to study at the French Culinary Institute based in New York and at ALMA culinary school in Parma, Italy studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts. She also attended Kenyon College graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Law& Society. She graduated emerging top of her class after a presentation at the Michelin-starred Giuda Ballerino in Rome. She then proceeded to San Fransisco working at Delfina Restaurant.
After working with celebrity chefs in areas of Austin, Los Angeles, and San Fransisco she managed to get her current job as the Executive Chef of Rosalie Italian Soul in Houston, Texas. While she was based in Los Angeles, she carried out her duties as Top Chef Alum Bruce Kalman’s Chef de Cuisine at Union. As the global covid 19 pandemic set in, she began a business in focaccia with the aim of taking it to the national level.
She draws her inspiration for cooking from the Mediterranean and Moroccan flavors. However, she too is involved in the Italian style of food preparation. In accordance to her LinkedIn, she has previously served at Launderette, Feastly, Union Restaraunt, Aziza, Cockscomb, Hard Water Restaurant, and Baxter.
