Steven Fletcher is a British horologist. His job entails specializing in the restoration and repair of clocks and watches. He is an expert and a cast member of The Repair Shop, filmed in West Sussex. The show is a British television series made by production company Ricochet in which family heirlooms are restored for their owners by experts. He became part of the show in 2017 and is a regular presenter alongside Jay Blades, Will Kirk, Dominic Chinea, and Lucia Scalisi. He was born to a family of clock restorers and the family has been in the business since 1910.
Although Steven grew up watching his father repairing clocks, he did admit that, at first, he was not interested in the craft and nearly went into a different career entirely. “I was always into nature and after watching All Creatures Great and Small on TV decided I would be a vet, so I took all the subjects at school to enable me to do this,” he said.
“My teachers should have told me that I was not intellectual enough to be able to do the studying so after not knowing what I would do decided that I would go into the family trade.” After studying the trade, Steven went on to begin his own business fixing watches. He has been working with clocks for over 40 years, and now runs a clock and watch repair business, The Clock Workshop, in Witney, England.

His older sister is fellow The Repair Shop cast member Suzie Fletcher. She was inspired to join the show by Steve who encouraged her to join the team.
Suzie explained: “Every time (Steve) called he looked to be having such a good time I jokingly said, ‘If they need anyone to do leather I’m your gal. I really was joking but after several phone calls and a lot of reassurance from Steve I agreed to give it a go and joined the team (…) I’m so happy I did as this is one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever been involved with and it’s also helped me through some very dark days.”
