Tom Parker is an English singer best known for being a member of the British-Irish boy band The Wanted. He was brought up in Bolton, England. He learned to play the guitar at the age of sixteen after trying out his older brother’s guitar. He then went on to audition for The X Factor but did not get past the first round. He went to Manchester Metropolitan University and studied Geography, but dropped out in pursuit of a professional singing career. He joined a Take That tribute band known as Take That II and toured Northern England, before joining The Wanted in 2009.
As a member of the boyband The Wanted, Parker has achieved 10 UK top 10 singles and has released 3 UK top 10 albums. The band also achieved widespread international success and has sold over 10 million records.
He is also an avid DJ and collaborated with Richard Rawson on a track called “Fireflies”, which was released in August 2014. In May 2015, he was confirmed to take part in the UK version of Celebrity Masterchef. He was eliminated during the semi-finals of the competition.
In October 2015, he released a solo single titled “Undiscovered” along with his own website and tour dates. In February 2016, it was confirmed that he was to replace Tina Hobley on the Channel 4 show The Jump after she fell on her arm and dislocated her elbow. He eventually finished third in the series.
In 2017, Parker was cast in the UK tour of Grease as Danny Zuko. He went to Manchester Metropolitan University and studied Geography, but dropped out in pursuit of a professional singing career.

On October 12, 2020, Parker announced that he had been diagnosed with an inoperable stage 4 glioblastoma. He suffered a seizure in July and was put on the waiting list for an MRI, later suffering a seizure on a family trip.
On 7 January 2021, Parker posted to Instagram that his tumor had been “significantly reduced” and that he was continuing his treatment.
On September 20, 2021, he held a special charity concert at The Royal Albert Hall, in aid of Stand Up to Cancer. The event was called ‘Inside My Head’, and featured artists such as Becky Hill, McFly, Liam Payne, and the first performance with his band-mates, The Wanted since they announced their hiatus in 2014.
In October 2021 in an interview with The Sun, he made a revelation that he is aiming to become cancer-free in five months’ time, following six rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions He explained that he will always be classed as terminal but is aiming to be cancer-free by March 2022.
He said: “You’ll always be classed as terminal. They give you 12 to 18 months of survival. But that’s the general statistics. Everyone we’ve spoken to has been way, way beyond that. Now, we’re aiming to be cancer-free by March. That’s the aim. This disease is always there. You might have residual cells but just not active. So, we’ll just carry on, just crack on and see where we get to.”

On March 30, 2022, Hardwick announced that Parker had died that day, aged 33, from his brain tumor after his condition suddenly deteriorated.
She wrote on Instagram, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken, Tom was the center of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence. We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you ❤️💫✨❤️”
