Toni Street is a New Zealand television presenter and sports commentator. She is best known for co-hosting the New Zealand current affairs programme Seven Sharp alongside Mike Hosking, as well as presenting morning shows and sports reporting for One News.
She initially joined Television New Zealand (TVNZ) in 2006 on a six-month internship. She was the presenter for TVNZ’s coverage of the ANZ Championship and international netball. She assumed the reins from the TVNZ duo of Lavina Good and Brendan Telfer, who both stood down after the completion of National Bank Cup netball in 2007.
She was part of TVNZ’s commentary team for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She was to be part of TVNZ’s commentary team for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London but dropped out when she discovered she was pregnant.
In 2010, TVNZ lost the rights for netball coverage and she moved into a senior role with One News, as a head sports reporter and substitute presenter for the sports bulletin.
In September 2011, TVNZ established Saturday Breakfast, a weekend version of Breakfast, and Street was appointed co-presenter alongside Rawdon Christie and later alongside Tamati Coffey. She was also a backup presenter for the weekday Breakfast. In September 2012, Street took maternity leave and was replaced by finance presenter Nadine Chalmers-Ross for two months until the show was cancelled.
In 2013, Street replaced Petra Bagust as permanent co-host of the weekday Breakfast, alongside her former Saturday Breakfast co-host Rawdon Christie. In 2014, she and Mike Hosking joined Jesse Mulligan on the Seven Sharp panel.
She has written a new book, Lost and Found, telling her whole life story, including the guilt she has carried at being one of two surviving children. The book will be released on September 28, 2021, according to One News.
She grew up in Taranaki, and attended Highlands Intermediate School and also New Plymouth Girls’ High School, and was head girl in her last year. She then joined Lincoln University on a sports scholarship and studied commerce. In 2005, she undertook a postgraduate diploma in journalism at the University of Canterbury.

She is the daughter of Wendy Street and Geoff Street. Her father worked as a farmer as well as a cricket and rugby team coach while her mother was a stay-at-home mum who cherished cooking, and baking.
Toni Street Brother/ Siblings
She had three siblings. She was born alongside a twin with her brother, Lance, who died of leukaemia when they were both 18 months old. Her baby sister, Tracey, passed on a year later when it was discovered she had been born without kidneys two days after her birth. Later on, came the death of her younger brother Stephen when she was 18. Stephen died at 14 when the quad bike he was riding rolled.

She has three children, two daughters and a son. Her firstborn daughter, Juliette Ellen France was born in October 2012 and Mackenzie Kay France was born in March 2015. Her son named Lachie was born on August 9, 2018, via a surrogate named Sophie Braggins. Sophie Braggins, her best friend, stepped in as a surrogate for their third child after her inability to have more children as a result of her autoimmune disease.
Toni Street Illness
She had been in poor health for six years and subsequently, her gallbladder was removed, she was diagnosed with eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis in 2015. She has since been diagnosed with Churg-Strauss syndrome, which causes inflammation of the blood vessels.
