Yasmin Warsame originally named Yasmin Abshir Warsame is a model from Canada who is also of Somali descent. She is also recognized for being an activist. In a survey that was carried out in 2004, she was titled by Fashion magazine as “The Most Alluring Canadian.” She is contracted with IMG Models and is a resident of New York City and Toronto. She also practices Muslim as her religion.
Her journey in modeling took off in 1997. She started to work with the Toronto-based agency Ford Models in the year 2000 having a reservation made for her under the Sears classifieds. By the summer of the year 2002, she had moved to work with NEXT Models Canada and successfully became the cover model of Lush magazine her photographs being taken by the fashion photographer Koby Inc, as she proceeded to Paris. As part of her success in modeling, she has also appeared on the cover page of YYZ Living in December 2011, and in 2012, she had an entire column from Flare, a Canadian online fashion magazine.
In her line of work, she has collaborated with brands and agencies such as View Barcelona, SHOK Models, Tony Jones Amsterdam, IMG New York, NEXT Toronto, NEXT London, and NEXT Paris. Her pictures and interviews have appeared on the top pages of magazines like Amica, Vogue, Elle, and Surface. To add to that, she has also done illustrious advertisement campaigns for brands like Shiseido, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino couture, Hermes, H&M, and GAP. She also has modeled for ready-to-wear clothing lines for famous fashion designers like Christian Dior among others.
She was a judge in the 2007, Cycle 2 of the Canadian reality television series, Canada’s Next Top Model.
