Mike Hagerty born Michael Gerard Hagerty was an American actor. He was known for playing comedic blue-collar workers, including his recurring roles as Mr. Treeger, the building superintendent, on Friends and the manager of a muffler shop on HBO’s Lucky Louie. His biggest role in the show came in the episode The One with the Ballroom Dancing, where Joey (LeBlanc) saved Rachel and Monica (Aniston and Cox) from being evicted by agreeing to practice ballroom dancing on the block’s roof with Mr. Treeger so that he could impress a love interest at the superintendents’ ball.
The actor was recognized for his small character roles in a wide range of popular comedies, including Martin, Cheers, The Wayans Bros., Curb Your Enthusiasm, Friends, Seinfeld, and The Wonder Years. He was also a regular on The George Carlin Show. He began his acting career with The Second City. Although the majority of his career has been spent in television, he has had small roles in many films. He was known for his trademark look of a mustache and thick Chicago accent.
Hagerty joined the cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine in 2013, where he played Captain McGinley and most recently played patriarch Ed Miller in the comedy Somebody Somewhere.
