Anupama Nadella is the wife of Satya Nadella who is an Indian-born American business executive. He is the executive chairman and CEO of Microsoft, succeeding Steve Ballmer in 2014 as CEO and John W. Thompson in 2021 as chairman. Before becoming CEO, he was the executive vice president of Microsoft’s cloud and enterprise group, responsible for building and running the company’s computing platforms. Nadella is an avid reader of American and Indian poetry. He also nurses a passion for cricket, having played on his school team. With his wife Anupama, they are part of the ownership group of Seattle Sounders FC, a Major League Soccer club.
Anupama is also philanthropic. She was in news for donating Rs 2 crores in 2020 for a project to promote alternate/additional livelihood for women and farmworkers in the Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. This was on the occasion of the first death anniversary of former IAS officer B.N. Yugandhar. He was a native of Bukkapauram village in the district. She also donated Rs 2 crore for PM Modi’s fund during the pandemic. She is an alumna of Hyderabad Public School. She also studied and graduated at Manipal pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture in the Faculty of Architecture.
